Principle:

When monochromatic light passes through the sample solution, its energy is absorbed. The degree of light intensity absorption is proportional to the concentration of the substance being measured, in accordance with the Lambert-Beer law: A = log(1/T) = log(I₀/I) = a × b × c

Infrared spectrometers utilize the absorption characteristics of substances to infrared radiation at different wavelengths, serving as precision optical instruments for molecular structure analysis and hydrocarbon content measurement.

Environmentally friendly reagents are used to elute oil hydrocarbons from the sample. The total oil content is calculated based on the absorbance at three specific wavenumbers: 2930 cm⁻¹ (C-H stretch in CH₂ groups), 2960 cm⁻¹ (C-H stretch in CH₃ groups), and 3030 cm⁻¹ (C-H stretch in aromatic rings), enabling precise analysis.
